The Public Speaking Enhancement Program

Imagine being able to present calmly and clearly in front of a group. How would that change your life?

The fear of public speaking is all too common and can often halt a person’s academic and professional progress and success. Whether it be in a social, professional or academic setting, many of us are held back by this type of fear. Yet it doesn’t have to be that way.

This is an issue I get really excited about helping people with. Overcoming the fear of public speaking often opens up wonderful academic or professional opportunities in a person's life. Also it is a challenge I can deeply relate to because I had it pretty severely in the past.

During my school days I was prone toward being anxious in general and being forced to get up in front of the class was pure torture. When it was my turn to present I would get red faced, stammer and lose my train of thought. Sound familiar? In some ways, knowing a presentation was coming up was worse than the actual event itself.

As I grew into adulthood, this pattern of fear would still pop up, especially when it came to the work environment. I absolutely hated having to speak at large staff meetings or to have to introduce myself at conferences. Take it from me, trying to will yourself invisible doesn’t work or I would have figured out a way of doing it!

Fast forward to my initial training as a professional hypnotist at the renowned Harte Institute for Hypnosis in NYC. Near the end of the course Dr. Harte covered how to get our practices started and he emphasized the importance of public speaking in order to get our names out there. Rats!

But I took the challenge head on and used what I had learned to overcome these fears. The fear of public speaking does not arise in the conscious mind, which is analytical and uses logic. After all, its not at all dangerous and what’s the worst that could happen?

Fear arises in the subconscious mind, which controls all of your automatic responses. For many the involuntary fear response gets connected to the experience of speaking in public and causes the release of excessive adrenaline and its attendant anxiety symptoms.

This subconscious mind is emotional and imaginative, which is the ‘language’ of hypnosis. It solves your problem at the source.

In the present day, I routinely do presentations in front of complete strangers for the local hospital system on topics like smoking cessation, healthy weight loss and stress relief. Not only do I enjoy them, I even get paid for being there! Who would have ever thought?

More importantly, during the years that have followed I have helped many people just like you improve their comfort when it comes to speaking in front of others.

The Public Speaking Enhancement Program is conducted over three sessions. Each visit builds upon the success of the previous one. You will also learn effective self-help tools you can use long after our work together is done.
